Yes To Esports Degrees

Many say no to esports education. I say yes...emphatically, yes! Why is that?

Higher Education has seen a drastic shift in the last 5 years. I don’t think people quite grasp how massive this shift truly is. I don’t know the last time higher education had a shift in operating procedures on this scale. It’s an industry that’s typically slow to change and adapt, which is ironic because it produces the next generation of our workforce. Underneath all of this, what is really happening, and how does esports fit in here?

In this edition of Leverage, I’m diving into the deep end to discuss the backlash against a recent article published by Esports Insider. I don’t exaggerate when I say the internet blew up about college esports education being a viable pathway to a career.

I absolutely need to say this up front…I believe in differentiated learning. We all learn in different ways, and it’s amazing that there are ways outside of college to learn now. College isn’t for everyone, and I don’t think we need to push everyone to go. But, I believe it’s still a relevant pathway. Let’s dive in and get this gritty conversation underway.
